"Converse"ations with Meg

AGAPE

I have always said, I do not see how people navigate life without the hope and assurances of Christ love for them. These are six of my favorite verses, or promises and why.

“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Plans. I feel like I spend so many of my days planning my next days, I am a planner, I get it honest, thanks dad! How awesome to know that before I was created, God had a plan for me. He designed me with gifts and strengths to fulfill his plan and work for his kingdom. My plans might not always work out, but how amazing to know his plans are better, greater, and they include a hope for my future.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

We Know. Those two words mean a TON to me, we don’t have to guess, or wonder, or hope, WE KNOW God works for our good. WE KNOW he loves us. WE KNOW we have been called for his purpose! I love that WE KNOW!

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

Light. I am not one who likes the dark, I sleep with a nightlight and my TV, I am fearful of the dark and what may be lurking there. Life without Jesus is full of dark, it is full of fear and hopelessness, I am so thankful I am chosen and get to live in his wonderful light!

For he chose us in him before creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:4

Blameless. Goodness that work does NOT describe me today, and it is only 8:46 in the morning. How cool that because of the cross, because of the sacrifice of Jesus, because of the blood he shed on Calvary, that word can describe me!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Commanded. To me, that is Jesus being like “Meg, get it together girl, I GOT YOU!” He commanded me to be strong and courageous. I do not have to worry, be afraid, live in fear, or worry. He is with me always. He is with me on good days, bad days, he is with me in happy, fun seasons of life and not so fun ones. But boy oh boy, I am thankful that he is there, that I can always turn to him, my Abba Father. Praise to him for commanding me to be strong and courageous!

“…You were bought at a high price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:20

High Price. That price was the blood and body of Jesus Christ. He cherished and loved me so much, he did not want to be apart from me in Heaven, he wanted me there to hang out with him for all eternity! I am called to honor him with my body, to work for his kingdom while I am living on this earth. I need to be the best I can be, that means eating well, getting enough rest, and exercise. He deserves my best!
