EASY FIXES
We live in a society of easy fixes. If something isn’t the way we would like it, we want it changed. I see this mentality so much in the weight-loss world, the idea of quick fixes. Instead of eating right and adding a work-out program to their lives, people want a magic pill, wrap, or app to get them fit! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there really is no magic pill, wrap, or app. I will go even farther and tell you, there aren’t any unicorns either, (I know, it’s hard for me to accept as well.)
As someone who struggled with weight-loss for years, these things frustrate me. After losing the bulk of my weight, people would come up to me and say, “Oh Meg, you look amazing, what have you done?” And I would tell them, “I work out 5 to 6 times a week, and I really watch what I eat.” Most times, people responded in the same way, “oh” in a very sad, defeated look. You see, they didn't want to hear that I put in work, they wanted to know my easy fix.
Along the lines of easy fixes, you have products that block the fat from foods you eat. How nice, a sorcery pill that will allow everything into your body when you eat pizza, donuts, or candy, except the bad stuff. Like, what? Even if they do “block” some of the bad, how terrible are you treating your body by allowing that to fuel it.
Here is the biggest secret to weight-loss I can give you, WORK! You have to mentally decide to change your lifestyle, to eat better and find a work out that drives you and that you LOVE doing. By doing that, the weight will come off. Will it be slow, absolutely, but that means it’s healthy. Not only will your weight change, but your body will tone. If you fuel your body with healthy foods, your hair will be shinier, your skin will look better, you get healthier from the inside out. Look, the time is going to pass anyway, I simply suggest dropping the easy fixes, and putting in the work. You are going to look gorgeous, and be so thankful for your health!
