New Year, New Books #24: The Christmas Candle by Max Lucado

This might be the first Max Lucado fiction book I’ve read and it was absolutely precious. It was a beautiful holiday story full of redemption with a slight supernatural twist. It takes place in a small English village during the mid-Victorian times where everyone believes in the Christmas Candle except for the new downhearted and skeptical preacher. Like all good holiday stories there is a Christmas miracle that leaves you with warm fuzzies. Also, it was apparently made into a movie several years ago though some of the story changes and the setting is moved to the late Victorian age.

Overall, the book is a very quick read. Quicker than it seems but great for a little holiday spirit.
