Real Chemistry in Real Life

I hate making a fool of myself but if I must I want to come out of it with potential advice for the other fabulous women out there! So, ladies take note…

I ran out of my regular in-shower lotion this past weekend but had received a sample of the Jergen’s Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer in one of my beauty boxes and figured I’d give it a go. I’ve used Jergens before and found their claim that a “subtle color will gradually appear” was true. I always liked the original product because I was less likely to mess it up and any mistakes would not be as glaringly obvious as with a traditional sunless tanner. I was headed to Atlanta for a Braves game and figured a little color would help my otherwise ghostly legs so I went with it.

However, I must have done something HORRIBLY wrong because when I started getting dressed the next morning I realized my legs were not just streaky but were covered with “water stripes” from the shower. (I dried off when I got out but apparently not fast enough.) Now, I’m not poo pooing Jergens BUT I would have been a heck of a lot more care if I had known how dark it was going to get and how fast and yes, I used the correct color. I tried reshaving my legs, scrubbing with an exfoliating sponge and dousing myself with an acidic toner but it was all futile. Nothing worked and I had to leave town…in shorts! By the time, we got to Atlanta my legs had a lovely bronze sheen with streaks down them that looked like I had bladder control issues.

When I finally got home I remembered another product I had received in a beauty box, the Luminous 3 Minute Peel by Real Chemistry and in walks my saving grace. I’ve tried the facial peel before and really liked it but for some reason I had never tried their body peel. Apparently, the Lord knew I would come to this moment in my life one day and needed to save this product to save my legs. Good news! The peel worked and I’m streak free once again!

Not only did the peel work like a champ, I, also like that the process was so easy. You literally rub this gel on your body (or severely tanned legs) and keep rubbing for three minutes. As you rub it in you will feel little balls form under your fingertips and that is your dead skin coming off. When done you just rinse it off and go about your business streak free! This product will run you around $34 at the Real Chemistry site, Ulta, Birchbox or at the link below. Happy exfoliating, dolls!
